Audi A4 4-cylinder diesel engines:
Engines of 1.9 l - with one camshaft (OHC). The Cam shaft located in a head of cylinders, is set in motion through a toothed belt from a bent shaft. Fuel injection is carried out by pumps-atomizers in which are united a high pressure fuel pump, the valve of steering and a spray jet. Pumps-atomizers are set in motion from a cam shaft through additional cams. The engine is equipped by a turbo-compressor with changeable geometry turbines (VTG-supercharger).

Engines DOHC 2.4, 3.0, 4.2 l - V-shaped, with a corner of an arrangement of cylinders 90 °, accordingly on 3 and 4 cylinders abreast. Such engines are designated V6 and V8. Engines have three inlet and two outlet valves on the cylinder. Each number of cylinders of the engine has on 2 cam shafts. At engine V6 cam shafts of outlet valves are set in motion by a toothed belt, cam shafts of inlet valves are set in motion by a chain from cam shafts of outlet valves.
