Audi A4 6 and 8-cylinder gasoline engines:
Engines DOHC 2.4, 3.0, 4.2 l - V-shaped, with a corner of an arrangement of cylinders 90 °, accordingly on 3 and 4 cylinders abreast. Such engines are designated V6 and V8. Engines have three inlet and two outlet valves on the cylinder. Each number of cylinders of the engine has on 2 cam shafts. At engine V6 cam shafts of outlet valves are set in motion by a toothed belt, cam shafts of inlet valves are set in motion by a chain from cam shafts of outlet valves. At engine V8 four cam shafts, also as well as auxiliary units, are set in motion by several chains. Chains are located from a flywheel.
